Negeri Sembilan only got themselves to blame for their second successive defeat to ten man Felda United in front of their own crowd,Paroi.
The latest setback drop Negeri Sembilan to sixth in the table after having a dream start of the campaign with back to back win that put them at the top spot that only last for two weeks.
Another defeat added more woes to coach, Wan Jamak. Negri now four point behind leader Kelantan who kept their unbeaten run to four. Negri's former winger, K. Rajan was the key figure this afternoon. He's the main threat at the right flank with superb run to trouble Negri's right back,Qhairul Anwar.
Although Negeri Sembilan were not at their best today, they had most of the play. Felda United scored
right before the stoppage to give the fans absolute heartbreak at the game they should really have win.
Still, this is a heavy blow to Negeri, who missed the likes of Idris Karim, Irwan Fadli due to injury. Idris picked up the knock at Ipoh last Saturday, Irwan was sidelined too but Qayyum took his chances well by shown a consistent performance. Fakri Sharani also missed out due to injury while representing Malaysian National Team.
Negri had an early chance just after the referee blow the whistle but Hairuddin can only kick the wind as the ball passed right in front of him. K. Rajan made a thunderous run down at the right flank but successfully blocked by Aidil to prevent more dangerous to Negeri Sembilan for corner to Felda United. It was a magnificent delivery by K. Rajan but Felda forward had his header blocked by Negri's defense.
Negeri Sembilan had a free kick close to the corner when Shahurain fouled by Felda United's defender. Qayyum step up and made a wonderful delivery at the dangerous area but no one could make a final touch to see the ball cleared by Felda United center half. Its look like would going to be another bad day for young forward Firdaus Azizul but he silence the stadium for a moment as he power a thunderous shot straight to Felda's goalkeeper who punch the ball weakly for corner,sloppy goal keeping shown.
At the 36 minute, from a quick counter attack, Kunalan set Hairuddin who made a compose half volley but he pulled it just wide. Everything was not right for tallest man in the Super League, G.Mahathevan as he failed to cope with game rhythm. Its a shocked to saw him play as defensive midfielder instead of free role like he always played at. At the closing stages for the 1st half , Felda United's leftback received a marching order from the referee for a rough tackle to stop Shahurain. Negeri Sembilan awarded a free kick to continue in search for the first goal of the game which stubborn to come. Clumsy defending shown by Felda United as they easily gave the ball to Mahathevan who have his shot deflected for corner. Qayyum's corner header superbly by Shukor but the Felda post man made an off the line clearance for the third corner of the for Negeri Sembilan.
This time Mahathevan who got the final touches but his header just 2 inch over the woodwork.
Start of the second half it was Felda United who made the most of it as they awarded a freekick 30 yard from the box. Felda failed to capitalize the chance as Farizal Marlias only made a routine saved from that set piece. At the hour mark, Qhairul had a curling cross find Firdaus but he headed just wide. Mahathevan had a dip in this last two match as he easily conceded possession to opponent, he rarely make a challenge and looked overweight last night.
Shahurain only got himself to blame after missed clear chance in front of the goal, the defender clear it for corner. Qayyum took it and find Hairrudin, his header just shy to hit the back of the net. Mahathevan made a superb interception to lauch a counter attack, he spot the run of Firdaus Azizul but he deliver a poor cross, easily tap out by Felda United defense lines for second corner in three minutes. Mahathevan silent the stadium for awhile with a towering header but just shake the cross bar, the crowd sounds frustration.
At last, Wan Jamak made a first substitution to inject pace in attacking berth by brought in Aminuddin
and replaced Shahurain. Only for a second on the field, Aminuddin already being booked for a ruthless challenge on Liew Kit Kong. Aidil had his chance to score with free kick but he blast it wide. At the 75th minutes, Halim Zainal engined a super move, but Hairuddin first touch was really disappointing.
Halim once again conquered in front of the penalty box but taken down by Azi Shahril. Free kick opportunities for Qayyum. He curled fantastic free kick, equal to finger tips saved by goalkeeper but the ball fall right in front of Firdaus who slot it into the net, but it won't count because Firdaus already in offside position. At 85th minutes, Wan Jamak finally withdraw Mahathevan for Shaffik Abdul Rahman, Kunalan took the role in central position.
Felda United looked like playing with 11 men, as Negri couldn't adapt the pace of Elaverasan's side.
Negri's back four finally broken as Felda scores from corner, Ghani Rahman header beat Farizal's goal as they grab all three point for that night.Till then,Adios.
